Single channel video; 2006

Synopsis:Ol Mas is the name of an initiation ritual of pagan origin that take place every year in Ponte Nossa near Bergamo. A physical initiation that in ancient times was played by the most strong boys of the town. Now everyone can participate to that action, women too. In the past the carrying of the tree, the "mazzo", to a particular rock peak, was a sacrifice in honor of the spirits of the nature and a performace of sexual virility. Now the participants follows individuals motivations, not ideological nor religious.

The video documents the ritual thanks to the contribution of several soud operator outspred along the route. This choice is at the same time realated to a collective documentary practice, and to the differents flairs that constitute the whole work. We are agree with the most of the participants stating that taking part to this action cause a physical catarsis and a form of disconnection to the contingent flux.
